Three Goals!
- I wanted to model a healthy lifestyle to my active children.
- I wanted to be able to keep up with my athletic husband.
- I wanted my 40’s to be marked by strength and beauty.
Kathy understood me! When I first came to her, we instantly hit it off! She asked questions that challenged my relationship with food, my body image and the habits that had become so natural to me. Never once did I feel disrespected or alone in my quest to find a healthy balance in my life.
Kathy shot me straight! Based on my lifestyle, my willingness to work and my body composition, Kathy gave me a realistic view of what kind of results I could expect. She told me outright; that for me, food would always be my battle – but it did not have to overwhelm me. Yes, the numbers and inches came off (almost 50lbs and a few feet of inches!!!), but what I didn’t expect was the new way I would feel about myself. I’m sure Kathy would still like to see me kick a few bad habits and eat a cleaner diet, but the modifications I’ve made are manageable for me and work with my family’s busy lifestyle.
I see Kathy regularly at the gym and without saying a word, I get a hug or nod of approval. I’m not going to lie, accountability is a wonderful catalyst for change.
I love how I think about food as fuel, but don’t obsess about it. I love how exercise is not my favourite thing, but makes me feel so good. I love how people notice my accomplishment, but I don’t need their approval to feel confident. I guess what I’m saying is somewhere during the past 18 months with Kathy, I got healthy! Not just in body, but in mind.
