Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon of butter
- 1 cup of pecan pieces
- 1 Tablespoon of maple syrup
- 1 cup of dark chocolate
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- pinch of sea salt
Directions
- Melt butter over medium high heat in a frying pan. Add pecans and maple syrup stirring constantly until syrup starts to boil and pecans start to become coated. Remove pan from heat and set aside.
- Melt chocolate in a medium saucepan over low heat. Add vanilla, sea salt and candied pecans and mix thoroughly.
- Pour chocolate mixture onto a parchment lined baking pan and spread out in a thin layer with a spatula.
- Transfer pan to fridge and allow to set for 1 hour.
- Once set, slice into chunks with a knife that has been dipped in warm water.
Smart Facts
I often will melt 1 square of white chocolate and add to the top of dark chocolate while it is still warm for the added “swirling” effect.
